Afternoons
Afternoons... Ugh...
I miss Taylor so much on Afternoons, i miss sleep so much on afternoons and I miss a normal life on afternoons!
Working from 5:45pm to 3:15am really is an okay shift, because I have nearly the full day (from when i wake up around 11am until i have to leave for work around 5pm,) but i miss Taylor so much on this shift. I literally never see him except when he is snoring away at 4 in the morning or when he has a rare day off, which is not at all this week. So it can be hard. Luckily i have a fantastic man who leaves me notes once in a while, telling me a bit about his day and telling me to come to bed. I guess im lucky in that way. Still its hard coming home and having him asleep, because all i want to do is wake him up and tell him about work and ask him in person how his day was.
I wish that each shift rotation only lasted one week. By the end of the second week of either shift i am hating it, and ready to start the opposite shift. But alas, i cant do anything about it so as of right now i am going to try and suck it up and be thankful for the job that i have, and be hopeful that Taylor gets hired where i work as well. (He is currently in the process of hire.)
Before i continue my rant, look at this adorable face i woke up to this morning :) awh... Olive!
I feel so super lazy today! I cant make myself get off my arse and do anything... which sucks because i really do want to work out and make a healthy lunch for myself for work and clean the house a bit as well... but im too lazy or sleepy or something. Maybe i am just bummed out that the long weekend is already over... Every single day of my life is flying by lately it seems.
On the plus side, i really am losing weight! I know i told you i was going to keep track on here of my efforts and i have really been failing at that... But i have been working at it, and it is paying off!!! About a year ago i bought Guess jeans from a thrift store that were brand new with tags... Only they were a bit to small... and by a bit i mean i couldnt do them up without strangling my midsection and having a seriously unattractive muffin top situation happening. So that was depressing... I remember around Christmas, putting them on and hoping i wouldnt be able to wear them out to the bar... And the same problem happened... Ick! But the other day i put them on and they fit! With room to spare... quite a bit of room i might add!!!! So i am thrilled, and super proud of myself... It was just the confidence boost i needed and it really felt fantastic! I just thought i would share because i am very happy about it!
Now i will tell you what we did this weekend, which was a lot of very relaxing NOTHING! On Friday night we went out for dinner at The Works, and then on Saturday during the day i went out with the girls from work and Taylor had to work until 6... & On Sunday evening we had a movie night, and we watched "Safety Not Guaranteed," "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," and "Wreck it Ralph." And they were all good movies in my opinion! And for the rest of the weekend we just relaxed for the most part, got some cleaning done and just chilled out! It was lovely!
Anyway i have nothing left to say!
Have a great week!

I've Been Busy
Hello there,
How are you all doing on this fine Saturday evening? I'm well, thank you for asking. I am feeling quite relaxed from yoga, cozy because i'm wearing my favorite roots sweatpants, and tired because i am adjusting to my days to nights shift change, so that when i go back to work on Tuesday, i don't feel like a zombie!
Before i get right into this post, i wanted to tell you all that i am sorry my I's are always lower case. The computer doesnt fix them for me and i dont have the patience or the time to go back and change them all. So it is what it is!
I am still on my healthy living kick, and by still on it i mean i have messed up and got lazy for a few days at a time, but for the most part am finding time to exercise (most days) and i am eating very healthy still... But because it is summer, my alcohol consumption has gone up slightly... Shame on me! I am starting Hot Yoga with a girl i work with, and im very excited about that! I have also been doing my crunches and running every day this week. As well as surviving on rabbit food while at work... lol
I have not posted anything since like May, so i do have a lot to tell. I think i will start at the beginning of June until now.
June
Bought my roots sweatpants!!!! Love them, and although they are expensive and make me look lazy, they are very very comfy and worth every penny! I just thought you would want to know!
June 1st, Taylor and i went to see Iron Man 3 and i really really liked it!!! People at work said they didnt think it was good but personally i thought it was very entertaining, funny, action packed and just plain awesome! and i think Taylor liked it too! A very nice date night all in all!!! Actually i think i am going to look tonight to see if its on TPB to see if i can download it and watch it again!
"Take me out to the ball game,
Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jacks,
I don't care if i never get back.
Let me root, root, root for the home team,
if they dont win its a shame.
For its one, two, three strikes, you're out,
at the old ball game!"
On June 9th, Taylor and i headed to Toronto to see a Blue Jays game! It was crazy because the game went 18 innings! Double what a normal game is! We met with my uncle and cousin later to have dinner because they were at the game as well, just in a different section. After dinner Taylor and i went for a walk on young street and then out for dessert. It was a really nice time, and a fantastic date night! The next day we headed back to Toronto with my mom and dad to go to my cousins birthday party. It was a lot of fun and great family time. There was a bouncy castle in the yard and all of my cousins were going crazy playing on it and having a blast! Then we got water balloons going and all in all it was a very fun and beautiful day!
June 13th, a guy i work with told me to listen to Imagine Dragons' song, Radioactive, and i fell in love with it... now its one of my favorite songs to work out to. It feels powerful.
June 16th was fathers day! So a VERY belated Happy Fathers Day to my daddy! We had a lovely day! We went out for brunch, and then back to my aunt and uncles for dessert and relaxation and family time. It was a great day!
Three years! On June 20th, Taylor and I celebrated our three year anniversary by going to Toronto. We had dinner on the waterfront near the corus entertainment building and it was delicious! Not to mention the view, which was beautiful! Also we saw a person dressed as a pirate walk by while we were eating... which was interesting! After dinner we went to a festival called "The Open Roof Festival," which actually didnt take place on a roof at all, but rather in a fenced in area in front of the corus building. While sitting at the festival we had an amazing view of the CN tower and the city while the sun was starting to set. We got to see the SheepDogs play some music live and unplugged and they were fantastic! And then we got to view their documentary on a great big screen, under the stars! It was a very romantic and lovely evening, and i was so happy to spend it with the love of my life! I am very lucky to have Taylor in my life. He is everything i have ever wanted and more. I would not trade a single day i have spent with him and for better and for worse i will love him. Three years is a long time, but i know that it will seem so small when we have been together 60. In the next year of our relationship i want to focus on making every day count. On not letting the media and technology control our lives, and i would like to stop and smell the roses. I love you Taylor, as i always have.
Beach party!!!! June 30th Taylor and i went with my family to the beach to celebrate my dads birthday! It was great weather, nice and hot. We swam up a storm, raced, ate some yummy food, and had a good old time! (I am very blessed to have such a close and loving family. I am thankful every single day.)
I guess that brings us to:
July
I feel like July just FLEW by! It was such an amazing and busy month!
July 2nd, we celebrated my dads actual birthday and it was a very nice evening... also... cake...
At the beginning of the month, Taylor and i focused on getting ready for our holidays and out camping trip! We were working quite a bit, which was good because our holidays ended up being pretty expensive!
I was suppose to get off work for my shut down at 1:15am Saturday July 13th, but we were lucky enough to get off at 6:30pm Thursday July 11th! So that was a lovely surprise!!! After we got let out of work, a girl i work with and i went to the mall to get pedicures! I got shellac so its actually still on my toes and hardly chipped at all! Which is awesome! Then i headed home and hung out with my love!
The next day Tay and i went to my hometown to hang out with family and friends at Canterbury Festival! We spent the whole weekend, and ended up reconnecting with a ton of friends we hadnt seen in such a long time! We all ended up hanging out in the beer tent on Saturday night and listening to the fantastic music on the main stage! Then we went to crabby joes and had a few drinks and chatted! It was great to see everyone again!
Now to my favorite part of this post! Drum roll please...........................
CAMPING AT GRUNDY LAKE WITH MY GINGERBEARD!
We had fun fun fun!
We swam almost 24/7, we slid into the water at slippery rock, we jumped into the water at jumping rock! We had a blast. We had a fire every night (even though we had to sit very close to it to see it because they have dug the pits very deep to avoid forest fires) and we roasted some marshmallows and made smores! We made hot dogs on the fire and had almost gourmet camping foods! (camping is pretty much just about eating and swimming in my opinion!) lol We made steak and roasted peppers, and zucchini! We had burritos, and tortellini, and bacon and eggs, and i cant really remember what else, but it doesnt matter because it was all delish! And the weather, oh my god it was perfect for the first 4 days/nights. We relaxed, read books and magazines, took naps in the tent and just chilled out with our "coffee," (aka alchy...) (like i said, wayy to much alcohol consumption in the summer... arg) The bugs were pretty bad and we are covered in bites but it was so worth it. It was a very happy trip! On the Thursday night, around 11pm, the wind started blowing, and there was lighting and then it started to storm like crazy! it poured rain all night long and our clothes line fell down, and our tarps fell down and we had to huddle-sleep in the middle of our tiny tent because we couldnt touch the sides or we would get drenched. which didnt really work because we ended up getting soaked anyway! lol On friday everything was wet and it was kinda rainy still and a little bit chilly and it wasnt swimming weather, so we drove to Sudbury, which turned out to be kind of a bust because its just a plain old city, and there wasnt very much to do there, so we pretty much just grabbed a timmies and then turned around and drove back. We stopped at the french river and looked around the museum and then went on the bridge and looked over the river and it was very beautiful. We were going to do the trail but i was in flip flops and black flies kept swarming my head which gave me the willies! Then we got back into the car and headed back to the camp grounds, but first we stopped on the side of the road to build an inuksuk! We climbed onto a big rock and made one, and i have to say it was a very fun experience! I love that Taylor likes to do things like that with me! It was his idea and it was a great one! We were supposed to stay in grundy for another night but the weather was kinda nasty and there were tornado warnings in the area, so we decided to pack up and head to barrie to visit Grandma and my Aunt, Uncle and cousins. First we went for dinner at Moose Winooskis with grandma, and it was very yummy, and it was great to see grandma! Then we went over to my aunts house for what we thought was going to be a short visit, but we ended up staying the entire weekend. My parents and brothers came to barrie on Sunday and we all swam in my aunts pool and had a bbq! Then we went out for icecream as a group at a very delicious ice cream shop! (i swear, my summer has been mainly focused on food... gah!)
We got home late sunday night and we were both back at work early monday morning, but it was so worth it because we had a great time with everything we did during out holidays!
The rest of July was birthday party central! My moms, and then Tims! It was a lot of fun, and very busy... like i said... IT FLEW!
Now its august and this is the long weekend! Today i went with all the girls on my line at work to Oakville to do some shopping at lululemon, and then to lunch. It was a great day, and i really needed the retail therapy (even though i am too broke to afford anything lol) and the girls day! Now i am relaxing with my Taylor and my boots and my olive, and am probably going to head to bed soon so i can wake up for YOGA in the morning!!!
Also there is another thing i have to tell you!!! Taylor, my wonderful man, helped me pay off the rest of my OSAP!!! Which is amazing! It is a huge weight off my shoulders, and my letter should be coming in the mail this week saying that i have paid in full! WHEW! He is the best... I dont know how i scored that guy... But im glad i did!
Well i love you all and thank you for listening to the story of my life!
Have a fantastic weekend!
